Amy Morton

Project Founder

Amy has been involved in Youth Work since the age of 14, starting out as a volunteer helper with younger groups at local clubs. She progressed onto Youth Work properly at the age of 18, before completing a Youth & Communty Work degree in Lancaster in 2010. Amy has also been a volunteer with several charitable organisations across the UK, including the Youth Advisory Board at vInspired.

Amy has lived in Hertfordshire, Northumberland, Lancaster and Leeds, and regularly travels across the country on voluntary work assignments for various projects. Her professional interests lie predominantly in Volunteer Development, Youth Participation, and Youth Arts, although she also has experience in other areas - for example, Young Carers' projects.

Amy enjoys art, comic books, music and reading, and is also a keen mountain biker when the weather permits!

Rachel Coates

Development Associate - Research & Youth Participation

Rach got involved in children’s work at the age of 12, and went on to youth work when she reached 16. As an active Christian she has specialised in Christian youth work, but also has experience with awards work and with Preston Young People’s Service.

In 2007 she was involved in the creation of the Methodist Church’s National Youth Participation Strategy and is currently the young woman’s advocate of Methodist Women in Britain. These things together have developed her passion for participation and equality – whether that’s through intergenerational work or giving young women a place to grow and try out leadership.

She currently works in a number (that keeps changing) of rural communities, supporting and heading up youth and children’s work, schools work, and the training of volunteers.
