We've teamed up with the Time to Change campaign to offer our Mental Health Resource Pack to everyone who attends their Training the Trainers Workshop.

When we first designed and created our Mental Health Resource Pack, we approached Time to Change to ask if they'd like to contribute. The response we got was amazing - not only did they love our Resource Pack, but they added an advert for Youth Work Hub - and the resource pack - to the USB stick they're handing out to youth workers who attend the training workshops for their Young People's Training the Trainers scheme.

Time to Change is an anti-stigma campaign, run by the leading mental health charities Mind and Rethink Mental Illness.

These two charities decided to work together, combining their knowledge, skills and expertise, in the biggest attempt yet in England to end the discrimination that surrounds mental health.

The campaign is funded by the Department of Health and Comic Relief .

Its first phase ran from 2007 - 2011 with funding from the Big Lottery Fund and Comic Relief. They are now in their 2nd phase, which will run until March 2015.

This is the 1st project in England aiming to change behaviour, not just attitudes.

The aims for this phase are to:

  • Improve public attitudes towards people with mental health problems by 5%
  • Reduce discrimination by 5%
  • Reduce the number of areas of life in which people experience discrimination
  • Increase the confidence and ability of people with mental health problems to address discrimination
  • Improve the social capital of people with mental health problems.
